Alexandra Maria Lara is a Romanian-German film and television actress popular for her work in films like Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. As the sole child of Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra started her show business career as a child. Her roles included lead characters in TV dramas as young when she was just 16. Following her highly praised role in the show Der Tunnel, Alexandra went on to play other noteworthy characters like Adolf Hitler's secretary Traudljunge in Downfall. Downfall was nominated for an Oscar and was praised by critics. The Reader, Der Baader Meinhof Komplex and The Reader are also Oscar-nominated films featuring the female diva. Through the years, Alexandra has appeared in many noteworthy national and international projects. For instance, the British biographical film Control, the Greek-language drama The Dust of Time, as well as the French historical mini-series Napoleon are among the many. She also remained member of the jury for the Cannes Film Festival and the Transylvania International Film Festival.
